Just days ago, Michael Tyler, also known as rapper Mystikal, showed up in court on a first degree rape case in which he faces mandatory life in prison. Mystikal was arrested at his Louisiana home after allegedly brutally raping a woman in an attack that can be described as demonic. The victim was visiting the rapper at his home where everything seemed normal until Mystikal stepped into another room leaving her alone. When Mystikal returned to the woman’s company, the victim describes being beaten, strangled, and raped. After the attack, Mystikal stole the victim’s phone and proceeded to send himself money in the amount of $150.
A medical exam proves that the victim did acquire injuries consistent with rape. The victim’s braids and nails were also found in the rappers home. Mystikal is also being charged with possession of several drugs including meth, heroin, and Xanex. Until the rapper is found guilty on the charges being pressed against him, the media will no longer be informed on the case. Here is what we know so far:
Mystikal was denied bail just after his arrest
Bail was requested by Mystikal’s former representative, Attorney Roy Maughan, shortly after the rappers arrest from his Ascension Parish home. Mystikal’s criminal history played a deciding part in the judges decision to deny his bail request. The judge also took into consideration the victim’s statement saying that she believed Mystikal would attack again.
Mystikal’s long-standing lawyer was unknowingly dismissed
Attorney Tiffany Myles was hired, replacing Mystikal’s previous representatives. Mystikals previous lawyers used the rappers mental health as probable cause in the case without Mystikal’s consent. The rapper viewed the mental health allegation as scandalous and seeked new representatives. Attorney Roy Maughan found out about his replacement in court last month.
Attorney Tiffany Miles filed for a gag order
After the media was informed of the drastic details of Mystikal’s alleged 2023 rape case, Attorney Tiffany Myles filed a gag order which will prohibit all lawyers, officers, and witnesses from commenting on the case to both media outlets and individuals.
Mystikal is in jail on rape accusation number 3
Roy Maughan, initially represented Mystikal when the New Orleans rapper was arrested for 1st degree rape in July 2023. Maughan also represented Mystikal in 2016 and 2003. In 2003 the rapper pled guilty to first degree rape and served to 6 years in prison. In 2017, Mystikal caught a 1st degree rape charge for kidnapping and raping a woman at a Shreveport, LA casino. The rapper was released from jail on a 3 million dollar bond.
The victim in Mystikal’s recent assault is the mother of one of his children
The alleged rape allegation describes the victim visiting Mystikal’s Ascension parish home and being attacked. She said initially, there were no reason for her to be alarmed until Mystikal left her in a room and came back seemingly another person. The victim describes being beaten, strangled, and rape. During the alleged attack, the victim said mystikal stole her phone and sent himself money in the amount of $150. There is also claim that Mystikal threw rubbing alcohol on the victim while reciting Hail Mary prayers. Mystikal’s former lawyer, Roy Maughan, admitted that the victim is the mother of one of Mystikal’s children. Mystikal has a son and daughter, who are both adults, with different mothers. It’s still unclear which child’s mother is the victim.
