R&B singer, Ari Lennox, took to social media to post her cover of ‘Almost There’ by Anika Noni Rose, asking Disney for an opportunity to audition for the role of Princess Tiana. ‘Almost There’ was written by Randy Newman and is apart of Disney’s ‘The Princess and the Frog’ soundtrack.

Now, there is rumor of a live-action movie in the making but Disney has yet to confirm. Disney is creating a Princess and the Frog spin-off for Disney+, which is set to star the film’s original actress, Anika. Disney has presented fans with stellar live-action remakes to quite a few classics.
The Little Mermaid is up next and will star singer, Hailey Bailey, as the deep sea princess. It’s hard to believe a live-action film for ‘The Princess and the Frog’ wont happen.
Disney creators were among the Louisiana tourists for Mardi Gras this year. The Disney crew wanted to get an up-close and personal feel for city. The crew even stopped by Dooky Chase Restaurant.
Disneyland’s attraction, Splash Mountain, will become ‘Tiana’s Bayou Adventure’ in late 2024. The Disney world team wanted to have an accurate depiction of New Orleans for the features of the upcoming ride.
There’s no doubt that Anika Noni Rose left no pebble unturned in her performance of Princess Tiana. Princess and the frog still has every New Orleanian swooning over it. The question is, can Ari Lennox play Tiana? She definitely has the looks, but are the vocals there?
